Gallery Talk: The Wailers 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Artist Gallery Join Daniel Piper, PhD, curator for Latin America and the Middle East, in the Artist Gallery for a brief exploration of the Wailers exhibit, highlighting an original bass guitar and drum kit pieces from Aston and Carly Barrett.
Performance: Walt Richardson 12:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. North El Río Enjoy local singer-songwriter Walt Richardson as he plays a set demonstrating the influence that Bob Marley & the Wailers had on reggae and folk.
Bob Marley: Reggae & Resistance 1:30 p.m. Event Room 2 David Hinds, PhD, associate professor of African and African American studies at Arizona State University, discusses Bob Marley’s impact on the spread of reggae music and politics in the Caribbean.
