Kathy Mattea and Suzy Bogguss have each carved out multi-decade country music careers full of chart-topping hits. Bogguss’s “Outbound Plane,” “Aces,” and “Someday Soon” are beloved by country music fans around the world. So, too, are Mattea’s “Where’ve You Been?” “455 Rocket,” and “Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses.” Friends since their early days in Nashville, Mattea and Bogguss have found only a few opportunities to collaborate musically—most notably on “Teach Your Children,” their Grammy-nominated track (with Alison Krauss) from 1994’s Red Hot + Country compilation.
