Best known for the catchy single “Closer to Free,” the BoDeans blend compelling songs and high-energy performances, and it has earned them a loyal following over their nearly 40-year career. The band’s accessible adult alternative sound has led to many milestones: the BoDeans were voted Best New American Band in Rolling Stone’s 1987 Readers’ Poll; they have earned support slots for U2, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, and myriad others; and they have a permanent installation in the Midwest Artists exhibit in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

Since releasing its debut in 1986, the band has released 13 studio albums—10 of which have charted in the Billboard 200. In 2020, the BoDeans released 2020 Vision, which pairs new recordings of some of their favorite songs and biggest hits with fresh takes.
