With a mission to support the arts and early childhood education, PNC Bank has awarded MIM a generous $100,000 sponsorship. As one of the largest diversified financial services institutions in the United States, PNC strives to build relationships with customers and communities.

A desire to shape young minds drove PNC to support MIM’s early childhood education programs: Mini Music Makers (ages 0–5), Musical Adventures (ages 6–10), and professional development for educators. “Music is a wonderful way for children to connect with others. Offering the continuity of ongoing music education provides a powerful foundation for families whose lives have been disrupted in so many ways,” explains Cathleen Walker, PNC regional president and head of corporate banking for Arizona. With PNC’s support, MIM has reached new audiences through virtual adaptations of on-site programs, carving new learning opportunities into a shifting educational landscape.

In awarding this sponsorship, PNC is helping to expand the impact of live music in the Valley. Their generous gift will also support the MIM Music Theater, which presents some of the world’s best artists in Phoenix, as live music begins its steady return.

Walker notes the unique benefits music brings to communities. “We all find common ground through music, and with that common ground, we’re stronger,” she says. “PNC has a longstanding commitment to the arts and during these challenging times, music and arts provide much-needed beauty, entertainment, and enrichment.”
