The public is welcome to attend and listen to aspiring opera singers compete in the Arizona District of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. The singing starts at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, and continues all day until all singers have been heard by a panel of judges who are vetted by the Met Opera.
Each singer normally sings two arias, and the winners, determined by the end of the day, go on to compete in the Rocky Mountain Region Finals. From there the winner(s) will go to New York to compete on the Met Opera stage for the semifinals and those winners will then compete in the finals with the Met Orchestra.
Did you know that singers must be between the ages of twenty and thirty to be eligible? Every singer sings better with an audience, so come and clap and cheer for these amazing singers!
Please note: audience members will be admitted in between singers.
