Presenting sponsor of MIM’s special exhibition

MIM is grateful to the Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation’s contributions to the museum’s Education and Public Programs Department and, most recently, to its new special exhibition, Ancient Musical Treasures from Central China: Harmony of the Ancients from the Henan Museum, as presenting sponsor.

In 2013, the foundation began supporting MIM’s Education Department. Its generous gifts have helped cover travel costs and field trip admission for Title I students and teachers visiting the museum.

The Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation’s support of Ancient Musical Treasures from Central China: Harmony of the Ancients from the Henan Museum has allowed MIM to present extraordinary musical and archaeological treasures spanning nine thousand years of Chinese music and history displayed for the first time in the United States. MIM is deeply grateful for the foundation’s support of this special exhibition, which has helped the museum share such a rich history with the community.

Since the Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation was established in 1990, it has become one of Arizona’s most charitable grant-making foundations. In addition to MIM, the foundation has contributed to many organizations throughout Arizona within six program areas: arts and culture, civic and community enhancement, education, health and human services, medical facilities, and research science and cancer.

“Local support from a long-standing advocate of arts and culture is both meaningful and important to MIM’s continued growth. We are deeply appreciative and absolutely thrilled to have the Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation as the presenting sponsor for our remarkable special exhibition,” says April A. Salomon, MIM’s executive director.
